Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

Why should I use Puppy-K All Day?

A:

Expert trainers and behaviorists report that starting a puppy off in life with a solid foundation of socialization and varied experiences can help mold them into strong, confident adult dogs. At Puppy-K All Day, we have raised many different types of puppies and have extensive training knowledge. Allow someone with experience and passion for training, work to start your puppy off on the right paw!

Q:

What will my puppy learn at Puppy-K All Day?

A:

We believe in tailoring the experience to each puppy, they are all individuals, after all! Some things we like to focus on are the foundations for potty training, quiet time, basic commands like sit, down, and touch, etc. We can add special requests to the list, if you have something that is important to your family.

Q:

What is required to bring my puppy to Puppy-K All Day?

A:

Your puppy will need their first 2 parvo/distemper vaccine boosters under their belt. We also require a clear fecal (giardia) within 7 days, prior to attendance. This is nothing additional on top of the normal standard of care for puppies at 12-24 weeks. Consult your veterinary practice if you have questions and remember, there is a national veterinarian shortage, schedule early!

Q:

Why do you require vaccines and a clear fecal to attend?

A:

We take the health of your puppies very seriously! Parvo and distemper are EXTREMELY contagious and VERY serious conditions in puppies. All puppies should have their recommended puppy shots so we can stop the spread of these illnesses. Giardia is a common parasite and can be passed from dog to dog and even to humans, a simple fecal test can stop this parasite from spreading. Consult your veterinarian with any questions.

Q:

What will my puppy be doing all day?

A:

Each puppy will have an individual training plan based on their development and personality, along with any items you would like us to focus on. This can include, but is not limited to foundations in potty training, quiet time, sit, lay down, touch, etc. Training will be done throughout the day, one on one, based on their age and development. All packages include an introduction to clicker training.

Your puppy will have play time with appropriate, adult dogs, if they would like to play! If there are other puppies in our care, they will also have the opportunity to play with other puppies. All play is strictly supervised. Indoors, your puppy will have access to our home. Outdoors, your puppy will have access to our gated, padlocked, yard with high-grade turf landscaping.

Q:

My puppy needs a mid-day meal, will you take care of this?

A:

ABSOLUTELY! We encourage mid-day meals for growing puppies. We ask that you provide their food and treats (if you have a preference) so we can continue with their regular diet.

Q:

Why does my puppy need to be able to be contained in a crate or pen while they are at Puppy-K All Day?

A:

Getting your puppy on a schedule is one of our goals and it will make your life with your puppy so much easier. That schedule includes nap time! It is incredibly important for all puppies to get undisturbed rest in proper amounts. In fact, some puppies sleep up to 20 hours a day. Does your puppy struggle to sleep or get restful sleep? We can help with this, but it requires a huge time investment in training and individualized attention. In some cases, it requires that we have only your puppy in training during that time. We have a lot of experience with these cases, but it also requires work and an investment from you, with our guidance. We believe wholeheartedly in crate training and we think you should too! Let's work together and figure out a solution for your puppy. This will make for a happier life for you and your puppy!
